The Cavatzu is a hybrid mix of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Shih Tzu. Cavatzus are extremely intelligent dogs. They are extremely loyal dogs and make good companion dogs. They are very good with children, but be careful, as the Cavatzu like to jump on people. They are friendly, affectionate, and beautiful, loving dogs.

Cavatzus are easy to maintain. Their coat is silky and rarely knots. They require grooming every 2–3 months. Their skin is sensitive, so a good shampoo and conditioner is a must. Cavatzus love food. Some owners prefer a fresh diet for their Cavatzus. While this is not a necessity, it does give the dog a wonderful coat. Giving your pet a bone every 2-3 weeks is also a must as it keeps their breath smelling nice and their teeth clean.
